Tetbury is the capital of the Cotswolds when it comes to antiques with a large concentration of antiques dealers and antiques centres located on Long Street and Church Street attracting browsers, antique hunters and celebrities alike.
A walk from the Market Hall along Long Street will take visitors in to the heart of the town where Trilogie Antiques a group of long established dealers joined together to form of collective selling antiques and decorative country furniture in a beautiful period building. Muir Antiques has a mix of contemporary design with selected pieces from the 20th Century, French decorative antiques and retro, whilst based in an impressive Georgian house Brownrigg is spread over three floors dealing in period antique furniture, decorative antiques and painted antiques.
While strolling around our antiques shops be sure to visit Top Banana, tucked away on the corner of New Church Street and Long Street, an arcade of dealers on several floors where you can easily spend an hour or two browsing an eclectic mix, of furniture, paintings, prints, china, kitchenalia, clothing and antiquarian books. Lorfords located in the middle part of Long Street have 4 locations in Tetbury; the Long Street showroom sells antiques and their own range of traditionally upholstered, contemporary sofas/armchairs – made in Tetbury!, the Upholstery Studio (on the Priory estate – where the sofas and armchairs are made and 2 former aircraft hangars converted to antique show space in Babdown where Lorfords have probably Europe’s largest collection of decorative antiques. ‘The Hangars’ are located in the nearby village of Beverston.
A few steps away is Porch House, a Grade 1 Elizabethan townhouse providing an ideal setting for Alderson Antiques specialising in mainly 18th century English furniture and works of art, alongside interesting items from the 17th and 19th centuries. With stunning interiors from Asia, Artiques is an eclectic mix of old and new located in a wonderful 17th century house on Church Street and on the opposite side of the road is a place for lovers of horology, Jester Antiques, specialising in antique clocks and quality furniture.
