Roots of the Past – Uncovering Westonbirt’s Heritage, Family Event

Join Westonbirt, The National Arboretum’s team and the Green Pledge Project from Gloucestershire County Council to discover more about Westonbirt’s heritage. Delve through archive records, maps and old photos to learn about the arboretum’s fascinating past.

 

Archive records including a selection of maps, old photos, diaries, and other records will be on display to help explore the past.

 

You can also have a go at leaf printing, and making your own nature journal like an arboretum curator would! Follow our mini plant hunter trail, and make a pledge to protect the environment before you go.

 

Make sure to explore the Picture Perfect trail at Westonbirt. Wind your way through the Old Arboretum and discover how Westonbirt uses picturesque landscape concepts to keep the arboretum’s heritage alive. There are several stops along the way for you to pause and take in some of the most spectacular views of the arboretum – and to take some stunning photos!

 

Pick up your free trail map from the Welcome Building when you arrive.
