Tetbury Christmas Tree Festival and Memory Tree – Friday 06 December to Monday 06 January 2020

For the third year running Tetbury Town Council will host this fabulous festival – come and see a festive array of beautifully decorated trees supplied and dressed by local organisations, schools and clubs all in the stunning setting of St Saviour’s Church.  You also have the opportunity to leave your memories of loved ones, friends and family, on our Christmas Memory Tree.

 


Tetbury Christmas Light Switch On – Friday 06 December

Lighting Tetbury up once again on Friday 6 December 2019, the Annual Christmas Lights Switch On will include festive music, carols, market stalls and the chance to visit Santa in his grotto.

Watch the lantern procession from 5:40pm and join Lady Colin Campbell for the big switch-on from 6pm.

There will also be the opportunity to do some late night shopping in the town’s beautiful independent shops and boutiques!

Parade – 5:40 pm

Santa’s Grotto and Children’s Christmas Crafts in the Market House – 6:15 pm – 7:30 pm

Christmas Fayre – Tetbury Market Hall – Saturday 07 December

10 am to 12:30 pm

Stalls galore to include Christmas Gifts, Decorations, Produce & Cakes, Tombola & Raffle and a Church Shop Stall amongst others.

Tea & Coffee, Mince Pies & Cakes

Organised by St Mary’s Church.

 


Tetbury Community Christmas Carol Service – Saturday  07 December

St Saviours Church Community Annual Carol Service

Time to be confirmed.

For the third year in a row Tetbury Town Council will be hosting this amazing community event – with the success of the last two years services and the popularity of the free mulled wine and mince pies we will be doing it all again!

All welcome – please wrap up warm as it’s a ‘closed’ church – there’s no heating system!

All donations received to go to the Churches Conservation Trust.

Tetbury Goods Shed – All on a Winter’s Night – Johnny Coppin – Saturday 7 December

With Paul Burgess and Dik Cadbury

One of England’s finest singer-songwriters presents his popular annual concert with a mix of carols and songs old and new, together with stories and folklore.

Printing workshop – wrapping paper, cards and gifts – Sunday 08 December 

10am -1pm

Artique, Talboys House, 17 Church St, Tetbury, GL8 8JG

In this half day workshop you will learn to use traditional block printing techniques to create your own wrapping paper, cards and gift tags.

There will also a chance to use rollers to print some great recyclable wrapping paper.

After a demonstration, we will begin to print onto tissue and a variety of papers and card.

You will choose your favourite blocks to print a cotton bag, napkins or tea towel

Tetbury Community Choir – Christmas Concert – Saturday 14 December

Since September we have been learning ten new pieces chosen by our new Musical Director, Nicola Atwell, that we will perform together with one of our old favourite numbers “Seal Lullaby” by Eric Whitacre.

There will be an opportunity for the audience to join in with a few Christmas Carols  and also listen to performances given by some of the pupils from Westonbirt School.

The evening promises to be an enjoyable festive evening, so do come along and support your local choir.

Tetbury Goods Shed – The Spitfire Sisters – Sunday 15 December

Christmas is The Spitfire Sisters’ favourite time of year. They will be performing festive songs both old and new, with their unmistakable vintage styling and extra mirth for good measure. Bells will be jingled and merriment will be made as they sing a song collection to warm you better than a glass of mulled wine.

Winter Wonderland Christmas Party – Westonbirt House – Friday 20 December

7 pm to 12:30 am (Saturday!)
Join us for a magical and unforgettable evening of festive fun in a beautiful setting steeped in history and heritage. Set in a Grade 1 listed manor house in the middle of a stunning 210 acre estate, this will be a very special event and we are looking forward to welcoming guests from the Cotswolds and beyond.
Tables seat 8 so may be shared for groups of less than 8 guests.
Tickets £48.00 per person to include: a glass of fizz or mulled wine on arrival, a delicious 3 course festive menu, live music & dancing and other exciting entertainment.
