NGS Open Gardens Week - Hookshouse Pottery - 27th May - 4th June

Hookshouse GL8 8TZ has borders, shrubs, woodland glade, water garden containing treatment ponds (unfenced) with flowform cascades, kitchen garden and orchard. Pottery showroom will be open and Art and Craft exhibition including sculpture. Mostly wheelchair access, dogs on short leads welcome, refreshments and plants available. NGS Open Gardens Day - Hodges Barn - 4th June - 5th June

Very unusual 15C dovecote converted into family home. Cotswold stone walls host climbing and rambling roses, clematis, vines and hydrangeas together with yew. Mixed shrub roses, water garden, woodland garden planted with cherries and magnolias. Wheelchair access to most of garden, dogs on short leads welcome. Beaufort Polo Club and Country Fair - 10th June - 11th June

Gloucestershire Festival of Polo and Country Fair held at Beaufort Polo Ground, Westonbirt. Beverston is GL8 8TU, the garden is overlooked by romantic 12C-17C castle ruin (not open) copiously planted and paved terrace leads from 18C house (not open) across moat to sloping lawn with spring bulbs and full herbaceous and shrub borders.  Large walled kitchen garden. Westonbirt Arboretum Concert - Elbow - 15th June

Elbow's rise over the past two decades has seen them become one  of the most important bands in contemporary British music. The venue gates will open at 6pm the concert will start at 7.30pm with a guest performer. Tickets £41.50 Plus Fees.

NGS Open Gardens Day - Ashley & Culkerton - 17th June - 18th June

Ten gardens, some opening for the first time at GL8 8SS. From cottage gardens to larger more formal gardens with a great variety of plants and designs. The 12C St James Church at Ashley will be open both days. Mostly level access except Dillycot which is not accessible by wheelchair, dogs on short leads welcome, refreshments and plants for sale. Sherston Open Gardens Weekend - 17th June - 18th June

A selection of large and small gardens in and around the village.Open 1-6pm Saturday, 1-5pm Sunday.

Tickets on sale from 10am outside P.O and from 12pm at the Lychgate (1pm Sunday)

Tickets £5 per person

Raffle, plant stall, tea and cake in the church from 1pm.


Westonbirt Arboretum Concert - Craig David - 18th June

Westonbirt House and Garden Opening - 25th June

Westonbirt House and Gardens are the creation of members of the Holford family most notably that of 19C Robert Holford who also created Westonbirt Arboretum (now part of Forestry Commission). The House and Garden are open from 11am - 5pm, guided house tours on the hour (last tour at 4pm) no booking required but please report to Reception at Westonbirt House. The gardens are off Chestnut Hill GL6 0RN and are within walking distance of the town. There are three gardens two of which clamber up the valley sides.  All express owner's personalities in design features and planting.
