Gardens

English people love gardens and Cotswolds have some of the most beautiful gardens in the country which are open to the public. Garden lovers visiting Tetbury and the surrounding area are spoilt for choice with several national acclaimed gardens nearby. Using Tetbury as a base means you can discover them all!

Visitors to Tetbury will see stunning floral displays and wonderful flower beds in the town throughout the year. This brings a natural beauty to the town and complements the architectural elegance of the buildings. It’s not surprising that Tetbury has been highly successful in the RHS Britain in Bloom competition in the past, for more on Tetbury in Bloom, go to www.tetburyinbloom.org.uk. The Tetbury Visitor Information Centre stock a range of leaflets for many of the gardens open along with the “Yellow Book” for the National Gardens Scheme in Gloucestershire and the surrounding counties.

Highgrove

Highgrove

Just a little over a mile from the town is Highgrove, the private residence of HRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall. Since arriving at Highgrove in 1980, His Royal Highness has devoted much time to transforming the gardens around the house, which are renowned as some of the most inspiring and innovative in the United Kingdom. Visitors to Tetbury can experience the gardens’ seasonal highlights between April and October each year, and discover how the Prince has transformed what was once a lawn into an ever-changing picture of magnificent garden scenes. The gardens are open to the public on selected days between April and October each year with profits from the pre-booked ticket sales donated to the Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation.
