Discover the history of crime and detection in Gloucestershire at Tetbury’s unique and unusual Police Station Museum and Magistrate Court located in the original Victorian building in Long Street. The museum covers over 170 years of Gloucestershire Constabulary founded in 1839. The museum also provides an insight into the social history of the town and its people.
Highlights of your visit is to meet and listen to our "Resident Sergeant" on duty in the station to watch over prisoners such as "Fred" sleeping a good night off in one of the cells and many artefacts related to Gloucestershire Constabulary and a unique collection of handcuffs and restraints . Don’t forget to visit the Magistrates Court where there is a visual and audio commentary court re-enactment along with cold case files of fascinating crimes which have taken place in Tetbury.
