When it’s time to go shopping, Tetbury doesn’t disappoint. The four main streets Long Street, Church Street, Market Place and Chipping Street are lined with a range of delightful stores, including boutiques, butchers and bakers but alas no candle stick maker. Nearly all of businesses in Tetbury are independently owned, and you’re sure to enjoy a pleasant shopping experience.
Tetbury has a fantastic array of independent shops which have a reputation for being destinations all in their own right with beautiful designer boutiques, home interior design shops, art galleries, jewellers and giftware amongst just some of them.
For centuries markets have been held under the Grade 1 listed Market House, the hub of the town and today there are still twice – weekly markets held there.
Plants and produce such as vegetables and fish can be found there on Wednesdays whilst on Saturday you can find bric-a-brac, old books and jewellery.
On other days you may also see traders selling anything from garden furniture to cowhides! Craft fairs and art exhibitions often occupy the upstairs room of the Market House.
