The King's Arms
Situated in the village of Didmarton in the Cotswolds, we are a quintessential British country inn and the perfect place to relax and experience some of England's most incredible countryside. Built in the 17th century and owned in 1745 by the noble Beaufort family, our Grade II listed coaching inn was recently restored to bring The King's Arms into the modern day whilst still hinting at the building's historical past.
We are proud to be part of 'Pub Group of the Year 2016' by The Good Pub Guide.
Combining modern comfort with rustic elegance, each of our cottage-style bed and breakfast rooms have their own individual character. Named after the prize-winning hounds from the nearby Beaufort Hunt, each room includes sumptuous features such as king-sized beds, ivory sheepskin rugs and luxurious Feather and Black mattresses and duvets which altogether ensure a relaxing and comfortable night’s slumber.
All rooms feature wood furniture, antique dressing tables, a flat-screen TV, a tea and coffee tray and complimentary Branche d’Olive toiletries.
Once the stables of the original King’s Arms in the 17th century, our two spacious self-catering cottages are ideal for families and larger parties looking for their own private Costwolds hideaway. The cottages have been carefully appointed with dark wooden beams, claw-foot bathtubs and brown leather sofas.
As a true countryside pub, we also serve delicious British cuisine using the best seasonal and locally sourced produce. Our menu offers a wonderful range of dishes to satisfy every palette. Daily specials are handwritten on a blackboard and are cleverly complimented with a selection of lighter snacks. Set menus are also available.
Sink into comfortable leather armchairs while warming up next to our large wood-burning fireplace in the main bar or choose the atmosphere of our Local’s bar frequented by the local community, which is full of historical trinklets and includes a darts board and a large window overlooking our beautiful garden.
Our classic English garden is overflowing with herbaceous borders enclosing benches, tables and chairs within its nooks and crannies. The ideal spot in summer to enjoy some al fresco dining with a glass of wine or a traditional game of boules while sampling a pint of real British ale.
